Featured Work from Free Country Media: The Medicine Box Project
|Through a partnership with HealthPartners, Inc., known as the “Medicine Box Project,” Chris Newberry has produced and directed four short documentaries highlighting the challenges and best practices of cross-cultural health care. The first in the series of films, If We Knew Their Stories, was completed in 2007 and premiered on TV that year on the public television program MNTV. The Medicine Box short films have been used in educational and outreach settings throughout North American and beyond. Among the many institutions that have added the Medicine Box films to their curricula are Yale University, the U.S. Army, and the International Organization on Migration based in Geneva. The most recent films in the series, Health Care in the Global Village: Knowing the Patient and Health Care in the Global Village: Patient Centered Care, were released on DVD in September 2014.
